Monday September 16, 2002, Joey Azar, from Boy Scout Troop 95, received his Rank of Eagle. The Court of Honor was held at the LDS Church, in Santa Maria California.

Joey is also a member of Venturing Crew 95. Both Troop 95, and Venturing Crew 95, are at St. Louis De Montfort and are sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.

Joey started as a Tiger Cub with Pack 95, also at St. Louis De Montfort in Orcutt California, then joined Cub Scout Pack 93, at Ralph Dunlap Elementary School, also in Orcutt California. He earned his Arrow of Light award, along with many other cub scouting awards.

Joey just graduated from St. Joseph High School, and is heading to UC San Diego. At St. Joseph High School he was active in football, soccer track, and yearbook, and service clubs.

Joey's Eagle Scout Service Project, started as a refurbishing of a storage shed at the Women's shelter associated with the Good Samaritan homeless chelter. But it ended up in removing the old run down shed, pouring a concrete slab, and building a new shed on part of the slab, while leaving the rest as open space for children's activities.

Joey has been Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Guide, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 95. He also served as President for Explorer Post 95, and also for the Argus Venture Crew. In 2001, he was selected as Senior Patrol Leader for Jamboree Troop 816 from the Los Padres Concil.

Joey has been a staff member for Cub Scout Day Camp, Boy Scout Camp, and Three Oaks Junior Leader Training camp.

Joey has attended summer camps in the Sierras, Big Sur, and Catalina Island. He has been an avid backpacker for the past five years. He has earned many High Adventure Awards, including 100 nights camping, Rugged E, and the Dinky Lakes Award.

He has earned over 30 merit badges; performed many hours of community service, and has demonstrated leadership skills, good citizenship, and outstanding character, in working towards and earnig Boy Scout's highest rank of Eagle Scout.
